EFFSAA Completed the Two-Weeks Training Program

Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association finalized the two-week training program on November 12, 2022. The capacity building program, which focused on the operation of free trade zone, was delivered in collaboration with TradeMark Africa Limited.

The President of EFFSAA, W/Ro Elizabeth Getahun, the Deputy Country Director of TradeMark Africa Limited, Ato Abenet Bekele, trainees, invited guests, and high level government officials, including the Director General of Ethiopian Maritime Authority, Ato Yehualaeshet Jemere (Eng.), attended the closing program at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

The practical experience of Turkey regarding the free trade zone was shared with participants by Ato Temesgen Yihunie, who is in charge of Capacity Building Program Manager at the Logistics Transformation Office under the Ethiopian Maritime Authority, right after the opening remark and keynote speech of W/ro Elizabeth and Ato Abenet, respectively. A vibrant discussion session followed the presentation, and both Ato Yehualaeshet and Ato Temesgen replied to questions raised by the audience.

Professionals who successfully completed the entire training program were awarded Certificates of Completion, and it was stressed that trainees bear a significant amount of responsibility in sharing the knowledge they gained from the program.

25 professionals from various government and private institutions based in Addis Abeba participated in the first phase of the capacity building program, which was conducted in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed by the Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association and Trademark Africa Limited. The second phase of the capacity building program will continue in Dire Dawa.
