RAME 2024 and EFFSAA’s Participation

Among the 4 regions of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the Africa and Middle East region (RAME), held its annual field meeting on 5-6 March 2024 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This region was previously chaired by Ato Salahadin Khalifa, the former president of our association, for almost 2 years.

On a conference, themed “Connectivity, Resilience and Sustainability in Global Supply Chains,” and attracted over 630 experts from 30+ countries, a distinguished delegation from Ethiopia actively participated in the event. The delegation included:

Moreover, W/ro Yamrot Nigussie who is currently serving the renowned Ethiopian Airlines as a Cargo Manager of the Gulf Area were also present. The event also featured the Executive Director of Pan-African Chamber of Commerce, Ato Kebour Ghenna and the Global chairman of the Fairfax Africa Fund Ato Zemedeneh Nigatu as speakers.

Highlighting the achievements of RAME member countries, the conference recognized the success of EFFSAA’s 4th round Train-the-Trainer program, which trained 28 participants last year.

One of the meetings held alongside the main program was FIATA’s AFI, chaired by Ato Dawit Woubishet, considered as an extension of the FIATA Air Cargo Global Program 2023 meeting, held in Addis Ababa in July 2023. This session brought together major airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Saudi Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and Emirates Airlines as well as the regional heads of international freight forwarding companies, Kuehne+Nagel, ISS Global Forwarding and Aramex, to discuss regional challenges and opportunities in air cargo.
